Come Join Us!

We are teaming up with our favorite organization, A Time to Health Cancer Foundation (ATTH), to host a couch conversation on September 24th– bring your comfies and coffee. There is no agenda, no script, we are just bringing our authentic selves to you!  I’ve included the announcement below and you can click here to register.

If you are new to the blog, let me give you some backstory on the blog and our connection to ATTH. Becky, Taylor, and I were all diagnosed with different types of cancer early on in life. Once we were diagnosed, it was really tough to connect with the cancer community. It felt like everywhere we looked there was an overwhelming amount of support for particular types of cancer or particular stages of cancer. For example, there is an undeniable amount of support for breast cancer and pediatric cancer.  There is a mountain of resources available for end-of-life care. We found ourselves in a grey area. Our cancers were lesser-known (Sarcoma, Ovarian, and Brain) and aggressive. The odds of our types of cancer returning are not favorable. We were at a stage in our lives where all of the time spent investing in our education, careers, and relationships were supposed “pay off”. Although we had wonderful support systems, we couldn’t help but feel the lack of connection to the cancer community. There wasn’t exactly a place for us.

Somewhere along the way, we found ATTH. ATTH is an organization that helps bridge the gap between physical healing and emotional healing during the cancer journey. We have forged new friendships, been inspired by the stories of others, and found a way to heal. We have also learned how to support these friendships through the inevitable highs and lows of the diagnosis. We have experienced all of the stages of grief together. No matter how many times you experience the loss together, it never gets any easier when it is one of your own. Somehow this little organization has created a community where the unthinkable feels a bit more manageable. It has created a space where you are never left wondering where you belong. Above all else, ATTH empowered us to Live Our Best Life. We hope it does the same for you!
